Directions

By Car

• From Points West:  Head east on H Street, across the bridge behind Union Station, and the Atlas is 14 blocks (1 Mile) on the right.

• From Points East:  Take Benning Road to Benning Rd, Maryland Ave., Florida Ave and H Street – take a slight left onto H Street – the Atlas is half a block down on your left.

• From Points South:  Take 295 heading north.  Exit at Benning Rd, heading west.  Follow Benning Road to Benning Rd, Maryland Ave., Florida Ave and H Street – take a slight left onto H Street – the Atlas is half a block down on your left.

• From Points North:  Take Bladensburg road heading south from New York Avenue.  When you reach the intersection of Benning Rd, Maryland Ave., Florida Ave and H Street – take a right onto H Street – the Atlas is half a block down on your left.

By Metro/Bus
Gallery Place/Chinatown – walk to H Street and 7^th Street NW.  Walk one block to H Street and 6^th Street NW, where there is a bus stop on the corner.  Take the eight-minute ride on the X2 bus along H Street and 13^th Street NE, and bus stop in about 20 feet from the Atlas.

Union Station – Take the X6 or X8 in front of Union Station to 14^th and Maryland NE, walk one block north on 14^th Street to H Street, take a left and walk half a block to the Atlas on your left.

By Foot
To make the 20 minute/13 block walk from Union Station to the Atlas, head out the front entrance of Union Station, and take a left.  Walk eastward toward the Thurgood Marshall Judiciary Center and walk to the other side of the building.  Take E Street NE until you come to Maryland Avenue.  Follow Maryland until you reach 13^th Street NE.  Take a left on 13^th Street, and walk the two blocks to H Street NE, and take a right.  The Atlas is on your right, halfway down the block.

By Bicycle
To make the 5 minute/13 block ride from Union Station to the Atlas, head out the front entrance of Union Station, and take a left.  Walk eastward on Mass. Ave. and after 3 blocks, you will come to Stanton Park – bear to the left along the park. After the park, bear left again onto Maryland Avenue.  Walk 7 blocks on Maryland Avenue, until you reach 13^th Street NE.  Take a left on 13^th Street, and walk the two blocks to H Street NE, and take a right.  The Atlas is on your right, halfway down the block.

The new Joy of Motion Dance Center, Bethesda, is located at 7315 Wisconsin Avenue, Suite 180E, at the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and Waverly Street.  We occupy the entire lower level of the Air Rights building, East Tower.  Entrances are located on Waverly Street ( East Tower ), across from the Residence Inn entrance, and on Montgomery Lane ( North Tower ).  Parking is available in the public parking garage directly across Montgomery Avenue from the North Tower entrance. It is a metered parking lot.  Parking is also available in the Air Rights building. The Air Rights parking garage has its entrance on Waverly Street.  Joy of Motion does not plan to validate parking.  We recommend the public parking garage – it is inexpensive, safe, well-lit, very close by, and has plenty of parking spaces available at any time day or night.

From the Beltway:  Take the exit for Wisconsin Avenue (not toward Rockville).  Stay on Wisconsin Avenue into Bethesda. Turn left onto Montgomery Lane.  At the first light, turn right onto Waverly Street or left into public parking garage.

From DC:  Take Wisconsin Avenue north.  Turn right onto Montgomery Lane or right onto Waverly Street .

From the Metro:  Take the Red Line to the Bethesda metro stop. Go through the turnstiles.  Elevator:  Go left and take the elevator up to the street (Wisconsin Avenue). Walk south on Wisconsin Avenue to Waverly Street . Cross Wisconsin Avenue at the light.  Escalator & Tunnel:  Go up the escalator. Turn right and walk through the tunnel that goes under Wisconsin Avenue to East West Hwy. You will be in the Bethesda Crescent building, take the escalator up and exit to the street, go left (south) on Wisconsin Avenue and turn left onto Waverly Street. We are on the right side of the Waverly Street.

Use the stairs to the left of Paul's entrance, JOMDC is half way down the hall on the right.

Parking: Street Parking and the Bank of America parking lot (corner of Harrison and Wisconsin.)  The bank allows our students to use their parking lot ONLY WHEN THE BANK IS CLOSED!  Your car may be towed if it is in the parking lot when the bank is open.

Parking Update for Friendship Heights
Bank of America is now open 9-12 on Saturdays and cars parked in the bank parking lot during that time will be ticketed.
