STAFF

HOUSE MANAGER

Joy of Motion Dance Center seeks dedicated, professional House Manager to manage our dance productions at The Jack Guidone Theater in Friendship Heights. Must be available Saturday and Sunday afternoons and evenings. $12 per hour.

Position Summary: While experience is preferred training will be provided for our space is a non traditional black box. Successful candidate will demonstrate patience, team player skills and professionalism while working with interns, audience members and artists. We produce over 40 shows per year.

VIDEOGRAPHER

Joy of Motion Dance Center seeks an experienced videographer to shoot and cut DVDs of our dance performances. Must be available Saturday and Sunday evenings, with the ability to turn around a DVD in 7 days.

We produce over 40 shows a year and need a videographer who is comfortable capturing dance on stage. Compensation to be discussed. Must have own video equipment and editing software. Possible use of office MAC and FCP for editing.

Workstudy/INTERNship

Theater Work Study

Joy of Motion Dance Center is currently seeking work-study applications for the Jack Guidone Theater. While previous technical theater experience is desirable, it is not necessary. Training will be provided. Needed are Sound Board Operators, Box Office, Ushers and Run Crew. Work studies will receive unlimited dance classes at all studio locations. Successful candidates must commit to 2 shows a month and be generally available Saturday and Sunday evenings. Be apart of creative dance production, see shows and take dance class, all while learning vital theatre production skills. Must be able to work unsupervised, a problem solver and an excellent team player.

Regular Work Study

Joy of Motion Dance Center is currently seeking workstudy applicants for our dance studio locations. Regular workstudy are required to work up to a 5 hour shift per week and must be committed individuals willing to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Training will be provided. Special Project Workstudy

Do you have special skills in event planning, marketing, information technology, arts management or other special talents? VIDEO PRODUCTION INTERN

Joy of Motion Dance Center, Main Office is searching for a Video Production intern. Previous experience in editing with Final Cut, shooting video and general camera knowledge is required. Successful candidate will need a flexible weekend schedule, as well as Monday – Wednesday day time hours to work in the Main Office. If you have a MAC with FCP at home you should apply to Intern for us! Perks include material generated for your reel as well as unlimited dance classes at any of the Joy of Motion Dance Center locations.

Development Intern

We are currently seeking a Development Intern for Spring/Winter 2010 or Summer 2010 for 15-20 hours a week. Internship Summary: Assist the Director of Development with grant preparation; prepare correspondence with individual donors; update databases relating to individual donors; research grant opportunities; and prepare information for brochures and other communication materials.

Requirements
:
*Undergraduate student, college graduate, or graduate student.
*Internet and database skills, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently as well as with a team, and detail-oriented.
*Experience or interest in working in a performing arts or nonprofit setting is preferred.
*Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the Internet is required.

Internships are not paid; however interns may take advantage of unlimited free dance classes at all JOMDC studio locations.
