Our performance classes are offered each semester in various dance disciplines as an opportunity for the adult
student to experience the process and thrill of performing.
Performance classes culminate in a showcase performance at

Level: Level: Beginning 2 and above Jazz or Afro Jazz
This class will incorporate the unique Afro jazz style of JOMDC's very own Tyrone Murray. Tyrone's choreography is an exciting blend of traditional African movements incorporated with elements of classical jazz technique and phrases. This class is an excellent opportunity to put the fun experienced in class on stage.
All students are required to attend
class, be prompt and participate on a regular basis in order
to perform. Students must purchase their own costuming
according to teacher guidelines. All efforts will be made to
keep costuming expenses affordable. This class will
culminate in a showcase performance for friends, family and
the community on Saturday, June 16, at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday,
June 17, at 7:00 p.m. at our Jack Guidone Theater, admission $15.00 general admission,
$12.00 students/seniors.

Bollywood Performance Class

Level: Beginning I and above Belly Dance
This class will feature the popular Indian film dance style that draws on folk and traditional elements as well as MTV and Arabic dance. This new choreography promises high spirited hip swinging fun for the whole village.
All students are required to attend

according to teacher guidelines. All efforts will be made to
keep costuming expenses affordable. This class will
culminate in a showcase performance for friends, family and

Latin Hip Hop Performance Class

Level: Low intermediate and Above Hip Hop
This low intermediate class will challenge students to learn Hip Hop choreography that is fused with Latin dance while also exploring modern and African movement. The class will also
include the history and significance of all these dances. All students are required to
attend class, be prompt and demonstrate a command of the
choreography in order to perform. Students must purchase or
create their own costuming according to teacher guidelines.

Level: Prerequisite: Intermediate and above Modern and/or Ballet
*It is suggested that students participating in this class also take at least one
additional modern technique class weekly.

Here’s a chance for you to learn a brand new full-length performance piece that is viscerally charged and gravity defying; and is derived from modern dance technique fused with pedestrian and classical movements, improvisation, and dynamic partnering.
